Vice President Joe Biden spoke by telephone Tuesday with his predecessor, Vice President Dick Cheney, who is recovering in the hospital from what his family describes as a minor heart attack. Vice President Joe Biden did not reach former vice president at first but Mr. Cheney called him back. The two men had what was described as a "very nice" conversation.
