  • Schoen: Left Painting Romney as "Severely Conservative"

With both the White House and the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, recognizing the importance of the economy in next Fall's election, Chris Stirewalt's Power Play suggested that Obama Democrats will do anything they can to distract the country's attention from the current slumping economic situation.

Power Play added the left wanted voters to be convinced that Romney was hiding a secret, had possessed radical tendencies that could be dangerous to the country.

As a guest on Stirewalt's "Power Play" online show on Monday, Democratic pollster Doug Schoen charged Democrats were trying to paint Romney as "severely conservative."

Appearing on Monday's "Power Play With Chris Stirewalt," Mr. Hume's stinging criticism went on to say, "I think his luck ran out in 2009" and pointed to both the president's stimulus and health care plans as examples.

  • Gingrich Suggests Obama Gives People Reason to Believe He’s Muslim

Port Fourchon, Louisiana - Newt Gingrich suggested Friday that it's President Obama's fault for leading people to believe that he's Muslim.

Gingrich has repeatedly said the president is a practicing Christian, but asked whether he's bothered by the proportion of the electorate who disagree, the candidate replied, "It should bother the president. Why does the president behave the way that people would think that? You have to ask why would they believe that? It's not cause they're stupid."

On the stump, Gingrich has been badgering the White House for taking "anti-Christian" positions while at the same time "apologizing" to Muslim extremists. Until now, however, he has stopped short of saying that the president is producing reason for people to believe he's Muslim.

"Why is it he's more sensitive to radical Islamists who are killing young Americans than he is to the Catholic church, to Baptists, to fundamentalists?" he asked Wednesday in an interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren. "I mean, the fact is, this is a very strange presidency." (read more)

  • Romney Vows Repeal and Replace Obamacare

Banners with "Repeal & Replace Obamacare" hung behind Mitt Romney as he slammed the President's health care law and vowed to get rid of it if he wins in November.

"The White House is not celebrating Obamacare today," Romney told a crowd of nearly 200 people at a mall in Metairie, Louisiana. "This presidency has been a failure and the centerpiece of that failure is this piece of legislation back here, Obamacare."

Romney did not mention his Republican rivals, but told a crowd of nearly 200 people at a mall in Metairie, Louisiana that he is the only candidate in the race with a plan to replace the law and get the American people "free of Obamacare."

"I'd like, instead of having the government come in and mandate price and cost controls, I would like to have individuals have a greater incentive to shop around, and make this act more like a market," Romney said.

Criticizing Obamacare as being "simply the wrong direction," Romney emphasized the need for health care to work more like a free market. He called the law another example of the President's "attack on economic and personal liberty." (read more)

  • ‘Bracketology' Hits the White House Again

President Barack Obama and Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron attend the Mississippi Valley State versus Western Kentucky, first round NCAA tournament basketball game, Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at University of Dayton Arena, in Dayton, Ohio. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster)March Madness has hit the Oval Office once again this year. President Obama released his picks for the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Wednesday morning. His picks for this year's Final Four include Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State and Missouri with North Carolina winning the title over Kentucky.

After incorrectly picking Kansas for the last two years, the president returned to North Carolina, the team he correctly picked in 2009 to win the whole tournament. Since he took office, Obama hasn't veered too far off from conventional bracket strategies with all of his Final Four picks seeded 1 or 2 in their respective regions.

Obama first publicly posted a bracket on the women's side in 2010, picking a Final Four field of Connecticut, Stanford, Tennessee and Notre Dame. Last year his Final Four field consisted of Connecticut, Stanford, Baylor and Tennessee. The president is expected to release his picks for the women's tournament later this week. (read more)

  • Gingrich: Obama is most dangerous president in American history

    Newt Gingrich (Fox News Photo)

Tulsa, Okla. - Blasting President Obama the "most dangerous president in modern American history," Newt Gingrich accused the White House of having an attitude towards violent Islamic extremism that puts political correctness above national security.

"Someone was arrested over the weekend for trying to blow up the US Capitol, they happened to be from Morocco," Gingrich said, referring to the FBI arrest of Amine El Khalifi Friday while he was allegedly en route to commit a suicide bombing. "Under the Obama administration's willful dishonesty, it would be highly inappropriate to describe what motivated him, because that would somehow be politically incorrect."

He referred to the Defense Department's summary report of the Fort Hood shootings, which characterized Major Hasan's killing of 13 Americans as workplace violence rather than an attack by radical Islam. "Across the planet today, the forces of religious repression are on the march and this administration has intellectually disarmed, it has morally disarmed, it is incapable of describing what threatens us." (read more)

  • 2012 Presidential Election: The Musical

The presidential musical continues as the candidates fight for Florida.

From Iowa to New Hampshire to South Carolina, Mitt Romney repeatedly spoke the lyrics to "America the Beautiful" along the campaign trail, but Romney took it to the next level when campaigning in Florida.

While speaking to a group of his supporters on the eve of the state's primary election he proudly sang out the lyrics to the all-American song and followed by saying "I love this country. I love it's beauty."

As for Romney's opponent, Newt Gingrich, he was not as keen to the idea of singing.

While campaigning at Fred's Southern Kitchen in Plant City, Florida Tuesday, a patron told Gingrich about Romney singing "America the Beautiful" and asked "will we get singing out of you?"

"A man knows his limitations," Gingrich replied. He laughed it off and passed the request onto his wife. "Callista is great singer."

Of course, it seems President Obama has received the most praise for his musical abilities getting recognized by the hit show "American Idol" itself after singing the first line of Al Green's song, "Let's Stay Together" at a campaign event in New York earlier this January. (read more)

  • Obama Campaign Raises $68 Million in 4th Quarter

President Obama's re-election campaign raised $68 million in the last three months of 2011. Officials from "Obama for America" tell Fox News that 538,000 donors gave to the campaign in the fourth quarter of 2011 and that among those 200,000 were first time donors.

While former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are undoubtedly spending Tuesday concentrating on the critical Florida GOP Presidential Primary Election, you can be sure the president's fundraising haul caught the attention of both men and their advisors.

Romney leads the GOP pack when it comes to raking in donor cash, announcing in early January that his campaign had raised $24 million in the fourth quarter of 2011. Gingrich campaign officials announced Tuesday, via Twitter, that they had raised "about 10 million" over the same time period.

This means President Obama's fourth quarter haul doubles the combined fundraising of the two GOP frontrunners over the last three months of 2011.

Fox News Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry contributed to this report.

  • POTUS Takes State of the Union Message to the Swing States

Following next week's State of the Union address, President Obama will take his message on the road, as part of a three-day, five-state trip, the White House announced Wednesday. Mr. Obama will visit Iowa, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Michigan.

While its customary for presidents to travel around the country in the days after addressing the nation, the five states Obama will visit this month are all swing states, vital to his reelection.

Obama also heads to Florida this Thursday, the ultimate swing state and site of the upcoming, all important Republican primary on Jan. 31. The president will make a tourism announcement at Disney World; just days before his Republican rivals head to the Sunshine State in pursuit of the GOP nomination.

But the president isn't just hitting the next Republican primary state. As part of his post-address trip, Obama will stop in Las Vegas, Nev., on Jan. 25 and 26, where the Republicans will caucus the first weekend of February.

Coincidence? The White House doesn't think so. "Our schedules are made with a lot of different considerations well in advance," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told skeptical reporters Wednesday.

Carney says the president's message for the tour will be "fiercely focused on economic growth and job creation." (read more)
